By setting that type of lofty standard, members come to expect a clean, sophisticated look and feel across all aspects of the gym. Yet, prior to the Palmdale location’s grand opening in August of 2017, members at the previous location were experiencing excess water left on the countertops and floors from previous users. This was due to the sink being several feet away from the hand dryer – causing unnecessary water spills – in addition to shallow sink design.

After specifying Sloan’s AER-DEC® integrated sink system, not only did Planet Fitness eliminate the problem of its restrooms appearing unkempt due to excess water on countertops and floors, but also added a level of elegance to the location’s washrooms.

Sinks that Raise the Bar

An efficient sink system, the AER-DEC features a sink basin, faucet, soap dispenser and hand dryer that work together all within arm’s reach in one comprehensive design. This strategic functionality keeps water inside the integrated sink system, instead of it splashing across countertops and even onto the floor. The AER-DEC achieves this, all while featuring touch-free units to promote proper hygiene practices for Planet Fitness hand washers.

Judgement Free Fixtures

After a grueling workout, Planet Fitness users have come to expect quality restroom fixtures in the facility’s restrooms. In addition to installing AER-DEC sinks, Planet Fitness specified Sloan’s fixture combination packages for their closets and urinals. These combinations are comprised of Sloan’s durable SU-7009 small urinal and ST-2459 wall hung water closet with their top-rated Royal 186 ESS flushometers for urinals and Royal 111 ESS flushometers for water closets. By specifying these products together Planet Fitness was assured that the overall system would perform since both were designed and tested by Sloan in one convenient package.

Water Efficient Combos

Not only are these models easy to specify and order, but they also provide excellent water savings using just 0.125 gpf on the urinals and 1.28 gpf for the closets to comply with WaterSense requirements. The Royal ESS flushometers also feature no-touch flushing with Optima sensing technology for maximum hygienic benefits. An effective combination, these urinal, water closet, and flushometer products place less of a burden on the gym’s maintenance staff, while also standing up to the high volume use that comes along with the Palmdale locations 2,500 daily guests.

San Francisco Sustainability

Nestled in San Francisco, one of the most drought-stricken regions in the United States, Chase Center specified Sloan flushometers to help combat water shortage and recycle the earth’s most precious resource. Sloan Royal® 111-1.28 SFSM and Royal 186-0.125 SFSM Sensor Flushometers — equipped with reclaimed water features — are specifically designed to withstand the harsh conditions presented by reclaimed water while conserving water at the same time. Sloan flushometers are an effective complement to Sloan ST-2459 wall-hung water closets as well as SU-1009 and SU-7009 urinals in restrooms throughout all levels of the arena. These Sloan water closets and urinals are designed to withstand the wear and tear that comes with a high-traffic environment. Chase Center hosts a 41-game NBA regular season and a full slate of concerts throughout the year. Not only do these Sloan fixtures meet the high durability needs of the arena, but also the vitreous china composition presents an easy-to-clean, sleek aesthetic.

Brushed Nickel by The Bay

The state-of-the-art sports and entertainment destination needed restroom products that met its sustainability standards and created a high-end aesthetic that would leave a lasting impression on guests. The solution was Sloan’s custom Brushed Nickel finishes for EAF-250-ISM Faucets and matching ESD-2000 Soap Dispensers. When these products were specified for the entire facility, they created a unified aesthetic and added an element of comfort for the whole arena. Thanks to Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) properties of the Brushed Nickel finish, fingerprints and watermarks do not appear on the products, minimizing maintenance concerns and contributing to their aesthetic value. Sloan’s Brushed Nickel faucets and soap dispensers were paired with 2, 4, and 5-station Designer Series™ Gradient trough sinks to complement the design. These sensor-activated faucets and soap dispensers provide users a more hygienic, touch-free handwashing solution. Additionally, Sloan SF-2350 Polished Chrome faucets were paired with SS-3002 vitreous china lavatories.

Since it opened in 2021, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena has set a goal to be the most progressive, responsible, and sustainable arena in the world.

That’s why the venue—sponsored by Amazon—has joined over 375 other corporations in taking the Climate Pledge, an agreement to reach net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040. The arena is committed to doing its part to reach this goal by creating the first International Living Future Institute-certified zero-carbon arena and becoming the first arena to announce its intention to eliminate single-use plastic.

When it comes to water conservation, the arena’s “Rain to Rink” system harvests water off its own roof, collecting it into a 15,000-gallon cistern and turning it into the greenest ice in the NHL. That’s not to mention its use of on-site retention tanks to reduce stormwater runoff and its water-saving commercial restroom products.

Seattle Water Savings

Climate Pledge Arena specified 45 Sloan SU-7009 Washdown Urinals, along with 110 WES-1000 Water-free Urinals throughout the arena. The WES-1000 uses no water for maximum LEED credits and minimizes water and sewage costs. The washdown urinals are paired with touch-free, high-efficiency Sloan® 8186 Exposed Sensor Urinal Flushometers with a 0.125 gpf flush volume to deliver premium water savings.

Less is More

As the home of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, Climate Pledge Arena can host up to 18,300 people. With those types of crowds, even the smallest amount of water conservation per restroom fixture can go a long way. Sloan’s 329 water-saving water closets throughout the arena are making this vision a reality. These ST-2459 Vitreous China Wall-mounted Water Closets have paired with Sloan G2 8111 Exposed Sensor Flushometers, resulting in low water consumption and high efficiency.

Low-flow Faucets

Sloan’s water-efficient products at Climate Pledge Arena extend to the handwashing experience. Not only do Sloan’s Optima® EAF-350 Battery-powered Deck-mounted Faucets provide a touch-free and hygiene-friendly experience for all guests, but they deliver sustainable flow rates as low as 0.35 gallons per minute (gpm).

Six Flags Mexico is the most visited park in Latin America. Since opening its doors on April 14, 2000, under the name of Six Flags, the park has been renovated each year including general updates and new attractions that have positioned Six Flags as a “must visit” tourist destination in Mexico City.
